Itinerary

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, our staff will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. You can have the rest of the day to yourself. Later, you’ll be given a brief about the trip ahead.

After breakfast, you will depart from your hotel and drive to Machha Khola, which is located at an altitude of 730 meters, after traversing a thin trail through a primitive village and the terraced fields of the Budhi Gandaki. The trail will branch off at the bank of the Budi Gandaki, passing complex terrain and the abundant waterway at the center of the village as it explores the villages and the surrounding environment. You'll see fields of millet, bamboo, maize, and bananas. We continue to follow the low valley to the north, observing the majestic Himalayan peaks from time to time as we hike up the picturesque densely forested Buddhi Gandaki Valley. The route passes through several small villages until the valley widens. From the opposite side of the valley, you will see a large stream flowing into the Budhi Gandaki RiverDriving time approx. 8-9

Cross the suspension bridge and walk-ups and downs the narrow path to Khorlabensi along the Budhi Gandaki Riverside. After Khorlabensi you arrive at Tatopani (Hot spring). From there you can see the view of Ganesh Himal. Then continue walking to Dobhan by crossing the Budhi Gandaki River. Entry your Trekking Permit here.walking time 8 hrs+, 1050m+ and 540m.-Again cross the suspension bridge at Dobhan and walk to Jagat mostly Ups trail. The place Jagat is the Main checkpoint for Manaslu restricted area.

We make an entry into the restricted region of Manaslu by climbing over a ridge to Salleri. We walk along the riverbanks then cross the Budhi Gandaki River on a long suspension bridge. As we continue to walk, the valley widens towards Philim. As we pass Ekle Bhatti, the trail separates one takes you to Tsum and the other Manaslu.
We hike up towards Lokpa across several villages. Rivers become narrower, and we can see the confluence of Syar Rivers from Tsum valley. We trek on the right side of Tsum valley to reach Lokpa village, the first village in Tsum valley that provides clear views of the Manaslu range. In fact, it’s a completely hidden valley blessed by Padmashamva centuries ago. (Padmashamva is one of the founding fathers of Tibetan Buddhism.) You will get stunning views of Himalchuli, and Boudha Himal from Lokpa village.

We start walking from Lokpa Village- a wild route entrance to Tsum valley. On a clear day, you can get stunning views some mountains from the routes joining Lokpa to Chumling.Our trail first descends to Lungwa river valley, then climbs up through a subtropical forest of dense rhododendron and pine. There are no villages between Lokpa to Chumling. We will be crossing Syar Khola to arrive at the village of Chumling. A side trip to the upper parts of Chumling takes you to a monastery from where you can catch great views of Ganesh Himal. Chumling has a health post and three monasteries - Panago Gumba, Mani Dhungyur, and Gurwa Gumba.

We may visit Milarepa Cave (locals called it Piren Phu). Though it is an easy walk to Nile; we may feel altitude as we go higher so it is recommended to walk gently above Chokhangparo, better to be careful of altitude problems. If you consider we can make your visit to a famous monastery of Chhule which is located in the top of area. We hike through Phurbe and Pangdun. Today it is easy walk of 5-6 hours to Nile from Chhekampar. Leaving old historic Stupa of Buddha in a way crossing the village of Chhule, climb upstream and cross the bridge to finally arrive at Nile.

The Nile, on the western side of the Shikhar Khola, is about a 20-minute walk across from Chhule, which is the last village in the north upper Tsum Valley. When you reach Ngakyu Leru.After passing Lamagaon, you will reach St. Milarepa Cave, where his footprint is said to be preserved in rock. This is one of the most sacred caves in the Tsum valley. There are two separate Gumbas attached to the rocky cave. Richly painted Buddhist murals, excellent artistic scripts carved on stones, long prayer flags, and significant Buddhist paper scripts make Piren Phu Cave one of the most important socio-cultural assets in the valley. Then, we cross a suspension bridge over the Shiar River and continue our trek through several villages to arrive at Nile.

A short walk from the Nile along the west bank of the valley close to the Tibetan border leads to Mu Gompa - the highest point of the Tsum Valley Trek. We hike up through yak pastures through typical dry and arid trans Himalayan terrain. The Mu Gompa monastery has rows of Chortens and provides beautiful mountain views. Moreover, you get an opportunity to visit Dhephu Doma Gompa - one of the oldest monasteries in the Tsum.

From Mu Gompa, the descent begins. We descend to Rachen Gompa, then Chhule and reach Phurbe. Rachen Gompa lies in the border area of Nepal and Tibet, and it sits surrounded by humongous mountains. But the destination for this day takes you through a forested area and finally at Chhokangparo.

Our descent from Chhokang Paro continues as we reach Gho. You will be crossing a suspension bridge near Gho and hiking forward to reach Rainjam Village. We leave Rainjam village, descend to Tsum Valley and finally reach Chumling.

Continuing to leave Chumling and continue descending, so today's journey should be an easier one. You will be moving along the bank of Shair Khola to reach Lokpa Village. Tsum valley is ending here and continuing to Manaslu area.The trail after Lokpa descends as we cross the Budi Gandaki on a solid bridge then enters a narrow gorge from where it starts to ascend and descend while gradually climbing through the valley. We cross a river on a suspension to Nupri and then pass through bamboo forests to reach the Gurung village of Deng (1860m).

Walk to Budhi Gandaki River then cross the bride and continues uphill to Bhi. The Trail goes steeply ups and down. Cross the bridge several times walk through the Ghap, prok village to Namrung. On the way, enjoy the view of Sringi Himal exactly from Prok Village. As well Mani stones, Tibetan flags, narrow gorge, Gompas, forest the main highlights of the day.

The Trail goes mostly up and simply down, you pass the many villages, Chorten, Gompa, and Monastery. On this day, you have a chance to get a view of Ganesh Himal, Sringi, and Himal Chuli, peak 29 from Namrung, and Mt Manaslu view from Sho and Lho. Sylala is the best 360-degree viewpoint. When you arrive at Sama village, you are very closed to Manaslu. In the evening you can photograph of sunset with Mt Manaslu. The Village is a big settlement of Tibetan Gurung People. There are typical old Tibetan houses and Modern Lodges. Hence, there is a checkpoint do not forget to enter.

You have today's acclimatization day or rest day. You can do as you like. If you want to hike Manaslu Base Camp 4790m. it takes 9-10 hrs. for both way ascent and descent 1300m.+ and 1300m.- or you can hike to Birendra Tal 3600m. approx. 3hrs (250m.+/250m.-)ascent and descent. If you hike to Base Camp, take Pack Lunch and water with you. On the way, you get no lodges for lunch. Or if you want to relax, enjoy your day at Sama. Anyway, early in the morning, you have a great chance to capture the Mt Manaslu Sunrise Panorama.

Walk to Samdo with a great panorama of Mt. Manaslu and through the Mani walls, Juniper, cowshed ,pasturelands to Budhi Gandaki River Then cross the wooden bridge. After crossing the wooden bridge, walk steeply up to Samdo Village. From here begin, Traditional trade route to Tibet via Lajyung la pass 5100m.

Walk to Dharmasala 3-4 hrs through the Larkya Bazar Old Trade route. The Trail is not steeply climbed but mostly uphill. Dharmasala (Larkya Phedi is surrounded by a Panorama of Larkya and Naike Peaks. At Dharmasala there are no comfort lodges. You sleep at a simple Lodge or Tent for a night. In the Afternoon you have time, so it’s better to hike 300-500 meters ups and down for acclimatization from Dharmasala. If you feel a bit of headache due to the high altitude, we suggest you drink enough water, and tea and eat Garlic Soup.

Today you have a long walking day of trekking with crossing the Larkey Pass. Early in the morning after breakfast begin the ascent to Larkey Pass.From Dharmasala it takes up to pass 4-5 hrs. After crossing the pass, you will see the breathtaking view of Annapurna II (7,937m), Himlung (7,126m) Cheo Himal,Kanguru , RatnaChuli, GyajiKhang, Namjung Himal and Larkya peak before pass. Then descent to Bhimthang from the snow-covered pass. At Bhimthang you will find good lodge and a delicious Meals with hot shower.

Bhimthang is surround by Mt. Manaslu, Lamjung, Phungi, Himlung and Cheo Himal.In the morning enjoy the Panorama. After breakfast You cross the stream DudhKhola and walk through the pine and rhododendron forest with mountain panorama a little downhill. On the way there are guest houses for lunch stop. Here in the lower heights, the vegetation slowly changes, and you reach the Settlement area of the Gurung ethnic group. Before you reach the village of Goa, you will see new view of Mt. Manaslu.

Today you walk about 3-4 hours through the village of Tilje to Dharapani. From there, you will drive rough mountain road along the Marsyandi River about 2-3 hours to Besisahar. The trail offers views of the valley, villages, farm terraces and rice fields.

After Breakfast drive to Kathmandu from Besi Sahar, you can enjoy landscapes. The journey often runs along banks of the Marsyangdi and Trishuli rivers. We also drive through some beautiful villages with farm terraces on both sides of the road. When you arrive in Kathmandu, you have farewell dinner at your hotel restaurant.
