Overview

View of Gaurishankar (7,145m), Melungtse (7,181m), other mountains, good landscapes; the village of Bedding (3,690m) and monastery, the village of Na (4,183m), Tso Rolpa lake are the main attractions. This trek requires a good walking experience and a good physical form. Two festivals are celebrated in a year in this place like Manirimdu in Tengboche Gompa in the Khumbu region. In Sherpa Language Biku means “Seed”. There is Sherpa village. There is a technical route in Tashi Lepcha La. There are more than 300 nuns. One should have peaks climbing permit for this route. Rolwaling Khumbu trekking provides an experience of the remoteness of this region, romantic mountain views, diverse flora and fauna, and rich local culture. It is a nunnery.

Itinerary

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, our staff will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. You can have the rest of the day to yourself. Later, you’ll be given a brief about the trip ahead.

Overnight: Kathmandu View Hotel.

Altitude: 1350m

After breakfast, With your Trekking staff drive 7-8 hrs. from Kathmandu to Simigaun through the Sunkoshi River, Bhotekoshi River, Tamakoshi River, Dolakha, and Gongar. From Gongar drive further through the Rhododendron forest and Sherpa village to Simigaon. from where, appear the view of Mt Gaurishankar (7134m.) and Rolwaling Himal. When you arrive at Simigaon, Nepal staff will set the camp tent. You will get Sleeping Tent, Dinning Tent, Toilet Tent, shower Tent, kitchen Tent, Table, chairs, etc. You will get meals, Tea, Coffee, Chocolate, Hot milk, water at the dining Tent by our professional Camping Trekking cook and sleep at Tent.

After a leisurely breakfast, you continue the trekking tour today on a scenic stage. First, it goes along the slope without any gain in height, then oversteps through wonderful mixed forests of oak, birch, and huge bamboo trees down into the river valley of the Rolwaling Khola. Again and again, you cross smaller tributaries and follow the pleasantly shady path up the valley. In the small clearing of Celje, the boldly shaped Chekigo (6257 m) comes into view for the first time, which dominates the mountain panorama for the next few days. Finally, you will arrive at the marvelous campsite of Kharka (3000 m) right on the banks of the Rolwaling Khola.

Once again it goes through wonderful rhododendron and pine forests upstream until they finally remain behind and you leave the river valley. You hike along the sunny valley slope over the Nyamare summer pasture to Bedding, the largest town in the Rolwaling area. Overnight in a tent (3690 m).

A day of rest and relaxation in Condition serves to adjust the altitude. We recommend a visit to the small monastery or a short hike on the ancient trade route to Tibet in the direction of Menlung La.

After Breakfast walk to Na Goan through the Mani stone, prayer flags, and Rock Carved Guru Rinpoche’s largest Images. Na Gaon is the Oldest settlement of the Sherpa People. You have a chance to see Yaks and Potato fields in this village. You have Lunch camp today. Sleep at Tent.

Today hike to Yalung and Ramdung Glacier then enjoy a great majestic view of Tso Rolpa Glacial Lake (4540m.) The Total area of the Lake is 154 ha, 3.45 km in length, 55 meters in average depth. After a wonderful panorama back to Camp.

Note: hike with your Climbing Guide, he has rope. The trail is steeply up and down.

Walk downhill to Sangma by crossing the wooden bridge and pass the Tso Rolpa lake then walk the good path to Kampung. Today is a short walking day for more acclimatization. Lunch at Camp.

After an early start, crossing the Trakarding Glacier and the sometimes steep passages on the edge of the glacier over scree, sand, and rock are a challenge, especially for the porters. In the afternoon you will reach Nosy Knob (4980 m), the last camp before crossing the Trashi Lhabtsa in the middle of a huge glacier scene.

Again a very early departure. You reach the Drolambao glacier via a steep step, which is partially secured with fixed ropes (short climbing sections I-II). Over scree and rubble, and finally snow, ice, and firn, it goes up to Trashi-Lhabtsa (5755 m) with a high alpine character. Beyond the flat, glaciated top of the pass, the campsites nestle like an eagle's nest close to mighty rock faces.

The further descent into the famous trekking paradise of the Khumbu leads to Thame (3800 m), not far from the monastery of Thame Gompa. A short detour leads up to the monastery, which was beautifully restored a few years ago

Today you will reach the Sherpa capital Namche Bazar (3440 m) after a rather leisurely day of trekking. In the afternoon there is enough time to explore the main trading post of the Sherpa people. Overnight in a lodge. (Walking time approx. 5 hours,

The last steep descent leads from Namche Bazar down to the suspension bridge over the Dudh Kosi and then the elongated Khumbu valley over Monjo and Phakding to Lukla (2840 m). (Walking time approx. 6-7h

In the early morning, you go to the airfield. The flight to Kathmandu is again an experience in itself, as you are flying directly along the main Himalayan chain. In Kathmandu transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for individual visits. In the evening (or, depending on the flight schedule, not until the next day) there is the traditional farewell dinner.

Day 15 :
Departure

Depending on the flight schedule, half a day or a full day is available for sightseeing. Optional guided sightseeing tour to the most important religious sights of Kathmandu (Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath).
